Common Name: European Elm Leafhopper
Subfamily/Tribe: Typhlocybinae: Typhlocybini
Distribution: NSW, ACT, Vic and Tas, Europe, N. America.
Economic Status: The species occurs in very high numbers on species of elms (Ulmus). Feeding on the leaves causes considerable chlorosis, thereby affecting the appearance of the trees and devaluing them as ornamentals.
Notes: First recorded in Australia by Fletcher & Williams (1987) but evidently present some time prior to that. Females have two round black spots on the front of the head but these are missing in the males.
