Lily Aphid

Aulacorthum circumflexum (Buckton)

Hosts

Very wide host range, including ferns and conifers. Commonly found in glasshouse crops. Not particularly common in Australia and only rarely collected on lettuce.

Distribution

Widespread in most areas of the world.

Identification

The distinctive dark markings on the dorsum of the abdomen helps identify this species. The wingless adult female (aptera) has a broad U-shaped patch and the winged adult female (alate) has a median dark patch and lateral striping.

The species was formerly known as Neomyzus circumflexus (Buckton)
