Economic Status: Vector of little leaf diseases of Ipomoea species, including sweet potato, in Japan, Taiwan and Melanesia and bell vine in Australia
Notes: This species was originally described from the Ryukyu Islands of Japan where it was reported as a vector of little leaf diseases of species of Ipomoea (Convolvulaceae), including sweet potato. It was first recorded in Australia (as Orosius lotophagorum ryukyuensis) as a vector of Little leaf and phyllody disease of bellvine (Ipomoea plebeia) by Behncken (1984).
