Orosius species
Caution
Many of the insects depicted on these pages are outwardly similar and you should not use photographs as the sole means of identification. These pages form part of a scientific key which will assist a trained entomologist to identify the species accurately.
Orosius species
There are eleven species of Orosius recorded from Australia differentiated most reliably by reference to the shape of the aedeagus. However, some species are extremely similar, even in the structures of the male genitalia, and critical identifications need to be backed up using CO1 barcoding. The genus was revised by Fletcher et al. (2016)
