Bactrocera halfordiae (Tryon)

Common Name: halfordia fruit fly

Diagnosis: Anterior supra-alar bristles present. Prescutellar bristles absent. Anterior notopleural bristle absent. Number of scutellar bristles 2. Posterior surstylus lobe short. Medial post sutural vittae absent. Wing markings costal band & anal streak only. Costal streak broad - touching R4+5 for its length. Costal cells cloudy.

Attractant: Nil

Larval Hosts: Incidental pest of citris and also attacks loquat and some myrtaceous fruits.  

Economic status: Nil
