Bactrocera jarvisi (Tryon)

Common Name: Jarvis' fruit fly 

Diagnosis: Abdominal tergites not fused. Anterior supra-alar bristles absent. Abdomen shape not petiolate. Prescutellar bristles present. Anterior notopleural bristle absent. Posterior surstylus lobe short. Medial post sutural vittae absent. Wing markings costal band & anal streak only. Costal streak limited to costa - touching R4+5 at margin only. Costal cells clear.

Attractant: Nil  

Larval Hosts: Deciduous fruits, mangoes, persimmons, and guavas.

Economic status: economic importance 3 out of 5
