(Flatidae: Flatinae:
Siphantini)
The shape of the tegmen, with its scattered dark
granules, and the bright coloration distinguish this species. This was the first species of Flatidae described from Australia, the original specimen being collected by Joseph Banks during James Cook's voyage to the Pacific in HMS Endeavour in 1770.
