This species can only be differentiated from Siphanta bifida, Siphanta glauca and Siphanta griseoviridis by examination of the male genitalia.
This species is closely allied to S. acuta (Walker) from which it can be differentiated by the darkening of the tegminal granules in S. peracuta and by the structure of the male genitalia.
