These keys have been developed within the BiosecurityCollections Unit (ASCU) of Orange Agricultural Institute. The support of the NSW Department of Primary Industries is acknowledged.

The New Zealand component was added in collaboration with Dr Marie-Claude Larivière of NZAC and is gradually being transfered to the NZ Hemiptera Website at Links to the NZAC website are provided wherever relevant for further information on the NZ fauna. The support of Landcare Research, Auckland, for Dr Larivière's work on Auchenorrhyncha is acknowledged.

Some of the keys have been published in printed form elsewhere and reference is given to these other keys where appropriate.

Comments on various components of these keys and checklists have been provided by colleagues. Permission has been granted to use images from a range of sources, particularly those incredibly talented photographers who post images of creatures living in their local bushland onto the internet in the hope that someone will be able to identify them. These inputs are acknowledged wherever they occur.

Many of the photographs were taken by Holger Löcker of ASCU and, in the earlier stages, by Linda Semeraro, whose employment with ASCU on leafhoppers was funded by the Australian Biological Resources Study (ABRS), a division of Environment Australia.
