Generic distribution: Mysol, Australia

Known Australian species: A. trifasciatus Stål and A. lucidus Jacobi, both from Queensland

Comments: The species of Aufidus are delicate cercopids with fine membranous tegmina. Both species vary in colour from pale orange to almost white with dark transverse striping which is much bolder in A. trifasciatus than in A. lucidus. A. trifasciatus was originally described from Mysol and is quite common in North Queensland.
