Subfamily Stenocraninae

Return to previous key page

List of Subfamily Stenocraninae known to occur in Australia

Note: Asche (1985) referred the genus Stenocranus to the subfamily Stenocraninae Wagner, 1963. This was based on characters of male and female genitalia. Whether the only Australian species currently placed in the genus Stenocranus truly belongs there is uncertain. It is possible that it belongs elsewhere and this may mean that the Stenocraninae does not occur in Australia
[update: 3.iv.2016, pers. comm. G.A. Bellis]

Genus Stenocranus Fieber

Stenocranus Fieber 1866: 519

Note: the species below may not belong in this genus although it was included by Fennah (1965) in his key to Australian genera.

Stenocranus agamopsyche Kirkaldy 1906: 409
