Genus Aneipo Kirkaldy

Aneipo ceres Fennah

Genus Aneipo Kirkaldy 1906: 425
Type species: Aneipo diva Kirkaldy 1906, by monotypy

Synonym: Tudea Distant 1907a: 290
Type species: Tudea picturata Distant, by original designation

Known species: Four species are known, variously distributed between NSW and Queensland

Comments: The genus is distinguished by the strongly depressed vertex with raised margins and the emarginate posterior margin. The margins of the frons are foliately elevated.

Lambkin (1978) redescribed three Australian species, added a fourth species and provided a key for their identification. A. diva and A. ceres are brightly coloured and more common than A. minerva and A. diana which lack the bright coloration and are known only from their type series. All species are restricted to wetter areas of Queensland or New South Wales, either coastal or on nearby ranges. Specimens are not common in collections despite their distributions coinciding with popular collecting sites.
