Tribe Rhotalini

Tribe Rhotalini Fennah 1950: 15

Errotasa neovalesiaca Emeljanov

This tribe was based on the single genus Rhotala Walker from Central America until Emeljanov (2005) added Errotasa from Australia. These are quite large achilids (11-12mm) with the hind tibiae bearing six spines on the outside margin (not counting the apical row) in Australian specimens (5-7 spines overseas). Females have the seventh abdominal sternite elongated medially to form a scoop-shaped process below the genitalia.
