Tribe Cenchreini

Basileocephalus thaumatonotus Kirkaldy

Tribe Cenchreini Muir 1913a: 30

This tribe, which is characterised by the presence of sensory pits on both the head and the clavus of the forewing, is not well represented in Australia. There are two species in two genera, one of which, Lamenia Stål, is widespread in the Oriental and Pacific regions while the other, Basileocephalus Kirkaldy, has one other species known from Maluku in Indonesia. The Australian species are both only known from the wet tropics of North Queensland.
