Genus Dworena Medler
Dworena hyacintha Kirkaldy
Dworena repleta (Walker)
Genus Dworena Medler 1986a: 207
Type species: Sephena hyacintha Kirkaldy 1906: 457
Distribution: Australia (NSW, Qld)
Species: Two species are known, D. hyacintha from N. Qld and D. repleta (Walker 1858: 334) from NSW, Qld and PNG.
Known hosts: Cassia alata (Caesalpiniaceae) Medler (2001)
Note: Medler (1986a) provides a key to separate these two species. In addition to the differing structure of the male genitalia, the key gives the length of D. hyacintha as 6-7mm and of D. repleta as 7-8mm. Both species are normally dark brown to black with small spots scattered over the tegmen. Medler (2001: 64) refers Sephena argus Kirkaldy to Dworena argus but this species was synonymised with D. hyacintha by Medler (1986a) . As no mention of a resurrection is mentioned in Medler's (2001) discussion of Dworena it is presumed that this referral should be to D. hyacintha. [update: 26.iv.2001]
