Genus Eurinopsyche Kirkaldy

Press to return to checklist of Australian Fulgoridae

Eurinopsyche obscurata (Fabricius)

Genus Eurinopsyche Kirkaldy 1906: 389
Type species: Fulgora obscurata Fabricius, by original designation

Known species: The type species, with three subspecies and a variety, is the only described species

Notes: Lallemand (1963) stated that this species varies considerably across Australia and recognised Eurystheus doddi Distant (1906) from Qld and E. clementi Distant (1906) from WA as subspecies. He also recognised E. pallescens Distant (1906) as E. obscurata f. pallescens. The true status of these forms, along with several other forms known in collections, needs to be investigated.
