Rentinus dilatatus (Westwood)

Genus Rentinus Metcalf 1947: 109
Type species: Fulgora dilatatus Westwood 1838, designated by Distant 1906: 18

Synonyms. Eurystheus Stål 1862b: 303, preoccupied by Eurystheus Bate 1856.
Rentinus Metcalf 1947: 109, nom. nov. for Eurystheus Stål 1862

Known species: The type species, with two subspecies, is the only described species

Notes: Kirkaldy (1906: 312) described Eurystheus perkinsi from Queensland but this was reduced to a subspecies of R. dilatatus by Lallemand (1963). The two forms differ in size, R. d. dilatatus reaching 23.5mm in total length while R. d. perkinsi reaches 27mm. There are numerous undescribed species of the subfamily Amyclinae which might add a number of other species to this genus.
