Genus Rhigedanus Emeljanov

Rhigedanus fomibundus Emeljanov

Genus Rhigedanus Emeljanov 2000: 264
Type species: Rhigedanus fomibundus Emeljanov (2000)

Known species: Two species are known, the type species from ACT, NSW and WA and R. maculipennis from SA and WA.

Distribution. ACT, NSW, SA, WA.

Remarks. The coryphe is at a lower level than the pronotum, (the hind border of the pronotum is elevated). This character state is only found in the genera Rhigedanus and Dysoliarus. In all other Gelastocephalini, the coryphe and pronotum form a common plane. The genus is closely related to Dysoliarus and these, along with Orphninus, were grouped together as a subtribe Rhigedanina by Emeljanov (2000)
