Genus Cryptobarsac Fletcher & Moir
Genus Cryptobarsac Fletcher & Moir 2002: 221. Type species: Cryptobarsac rubriops Fletcher & Moir 2002: 222, by original designation
Distribution: Western Australia
Species: Only the type species is known in this genus.
Note: This species was discovered living in the "skirts" of dead leaves that hang below the leaf crown of species of Xanthorrhoea priessii (grass trees) in Western Australia. The discovery of this species was a result of the second author's PhD project investigating the Hemiptera associated with regenerating minesites at Jarrahdale SE of Perth. Grass trees are part of the natural jarrah forest community which is being used as a control for comparison with the former minesites. The species is similar to species of Barsac Fletcher in the brown coloration, narrow tegmina with preapical line and the general structure of the head but differs markedly in genitalia structures and also differs from all other Australian Flatidae: Flatinae, except for Anzora Medler and Mimophantia Matsumura, in having two spines on the hind tibia.
