Subfamily Austroagalloidinae
This entirely Australian subfamily consists of medium-sized leafhoppers that live primarily on eucalypts. They are characterised by the absence, or great reduction, of the appendix of the tegmen and the head which is more or less in three transverse planes representing the crown, the upper face and the lower face. Little is known of their biology and none is known to be of economic importance. The best known is Austroagalloides rosea which is pinkish red in the female, but blackish in the male.
