Subfamily Signoretiinae
This small subfamily is restricted to the tropical regions of Africa and Asia with two species represented in Indonesia, neither of which occurs east of the Wallace Line. The species are medium-sized with a swollen frons (which has led to the group sometimes being included as a Tribe Signoretiini of the Subfamily Cicadellinae). The frons has a well developed median longitudinal carina and a submarginal carina is also present on the vertex. The most diagnostic feature of the signoretiines is the extension of the pronotum posteriorly to cover all of the pronotum except the apical point. The pronotum is also strongly and regularly punctate.
