Genus Ectopiocephalus Kirkaldy 1906: 463. Type species: Ectopiocephalus vanduzeei Kirkaldy, by monotypy.
Known species: Only one species, Ectopiocephalus australis (Walker), is known.
Comments: This is the largest species of Australian Penthimiini and distinctive in shape with its broad rounded head giving a somewhat cercopoid appearance. Although the species is formally recognised only from Qld, NSW and Victoria, there are specimens from northern WA in collections. Whether these are E. australis or a second species is unknown.
