Known species: Day (1999: 662) lists six species, one of which is undescribed.
Distribution: Mainly southern Australia, all states except NT. One species extends to the Aru Islands, in Indonesia.
Comments: Ceraon species are elegantly narrow, mid brown species with distinctive lateral pronotal processes which expand transversely towards the apex and usually bear distinct ridging on the anterior face. The median pronotal process is quite long, often reaching almost to the apex of the tegmen. The genus was revised by Kitching (1976) who added the Tasmanian species C. pix.
