Genus Crito Distant
Crito Distant 1916a: 43; Day 1999: 662. Type species: Crito festivus Distant 1916, by original designation
Known species: Only the type species is known.
Distribution: N. Qld
Comments: The illustrations provided by Day (1999) indicate that this species is small, dark brown to black, with short apically acute (in dorsal view) lateral pronotal processes and a large pronotal notch. The body surface is coarsely punctate with sparse fine white hairs but it does not appear hairy. Day (1999) discusses the difficulties that various authors have created for identification of this genus with Distant (1916a) providing a description that was not discriminatory and Funkhouser (1951) and Goding (1949) misidentifying the genus.
