Genus Neosextius Day
Neosextius Day 1999: 690. Type species: Neosextius longinotum Day 1999, by original designation
Known species: N. longinotum Day from far northern WA and N. yanda Day from far north Qld
Distribution: northern Australia
Comments: Neosextius is related to Sextius (Day 1999) with which it shares features such as reticulate venation and pale greenish colouring (both genera have species with brown markings on legs and tegmina). However, in Sextius the lateral pronotal processes extend laterally as triangular horns while in Neosextius they are swept forward and closely apposed to form an apparent single anteriorly directed process.
