Genus Polonius Distant
Polonius Distant 1916d; 291 Day 1999: 700. Type species: Polonius biseriatus Distant 1916, by original designation
Known species: Only one species, P. froggatti Goding (1939) from northern NSW and SE Qld, is known from Australia.
Distribution: NSW, Qld, Thailand, Malaysia
Comments: Evans (1966) and Day (1999) expressed doubts that P. froggatti is congeneric with P. biseriatus but the single type specimen is slightly deformed. Day (1999) records and illustrates the species from two additional specimens from Cooloola National Park, SE Qld. P. froggatti is reported by Day (1999) to be related to Pogonella from which it differs by a number of features including the length of subcostal cell that is coriaceous.
