Genus Tomaloides Evans
Genus Tomaloides Evans 1972a: 177. Type species: Tomaloides shepherdi Evans, by original designation
Known species: Only the type species, from western NSW, is known.
Comments: Evans (1972a) noted that T. shepherdi was similar to species of Tolasella in head shape but differed in tegminal and male genitalia characters. In particular, the extensive appendix of the tegmen is continuous with the costal margin in Tomaloides but not in Tolasella.
It is interesting to note that this species is named after F.W. Shepherd who collected the type series at Broken Hill, NSW whereas Chinaella shephardi Evans is named after F.W. Shephard who collected the type series of that species in the same location. Presumably, one of these spellings is incorrect.
