Type species: Kahavalu gemma Kirkaldy, by monotypy

Known species:Only the type species is known

Comments: Since K. gemma was described by Kirkaldy from Sydney, it is assumed that either the species is extremely rare or it has been confused with some other species in collections. Kirkaldy's original description states that the species is black with the cells of the tegmen hyaline. The species is closely punctate.
