Dingkana borealis Goding Dingkana borealis Goding

Dingkana Goding 1903: 8; Day 1999: 664. Type species: Dingkana borealis Goding 1903, by original designation.

Known species: Only the type species is described although Day (1999) notes that a different species is known from Darnley Island in Torres Strait and further species are known from PNG.

Distribution: N. Qld, PNG.

Comments: This is one of two Australian genera in which the lateral pronotal processes are completely missing, the other being Terentius. Dingkana borealis is more elongate and considerably more setose than Terentius convexus and has the pronotum less globosely convex.
