Genus Otinotoides Distant
Otinotoides Distant 1916c: 320; Day 1999: 693. Type species: Centrotus pallipes Walker 1870, by original designation
Known species: Four described species in Australia.
Distribution: NSW, SA, N.Qld, PNG, Indonesia, Solomon Islands, Africa
Comments: This genus is superficially very similar to Neocanthuchus Day from which it differs mainly by the disposition of the lateral pronotal processes which are well below the median height of the pronotum in Otinotoides but extend upwards or outwards in Neocanthuchus so that the apices are level with or above the median height of the pronotum. In addition, the posterior pronotal process is slightly sinuate, reaching just beyond CuA in Neocanthuchus but is more or less straight, then curved downwards and extending almost to the apex of the forewing in Otinotoides.
